Dead Sea Scrolls
Hands on History
Immerse your students in a cultural activity that bridges the gap between traditions of the past and present. Through the art and history of paper making students will learn an ancient tradition and understand the importance of preserving the written word to pass on to future generations. Participants will be given paper created by a previous group and will be asked to explore their own family and community traditions and put their stories to paper. Their contribution will commemorate their experience at the exhibit and the paper they've created will be allowed to dry for use by a future group. Students will also have the opportunity to write notes, wishes or prayers on some of the paper and leave it within our Western Wall installation.
